7th Annual BET College Day

BET’s 7th Annual College Day, designed topromote HIV awareness among college and university students,returns for the seventh year to Paramount’s Kings Dominion inVirginia.

The BET amusement park, and concert event will be held onSaturday, April 10th, 2004 from 10am-8pm and theoccasion will feature live performances from hip-hop and R&Bartists, Twista, David Banner and Jagged Edge. Proceeds fromCollege Day will go to Wrap-it-up, BET’s HIV awarenessinitiative, and participating colleges and universities, whichinclude Howard University, Hampton University, Morgan StateUniveristy, Florida A&M and many more. A college identificationis not required to enter.

With BET talent and celebrities hosting thisaffair, students can look forward to a long day of fun filledactivities. The schedule of events for this year’s CollegeDay include, a Greek Step Show, beginning promptly at 2pm,featuring several different sororities and fraternities from HBCUcampuses, competing for monetary prizes and trophies. The Step Showwill be hosted by MADD Host, Joe Clair and R&B recordingartist, Lil’ Mo. Gabriel and Veronica, cast members fromBET’s hit reality series, College Hill, will also be on boardas celebrity judges.

At 11 am Rap City: Tha Basement’s hostBig Tigger will judge aspiring DJ’s as they fiercely competeto be showcased on an upcoming episode of Rap City. Directlyfollowing the DJ spin off, at 1:00pm student emcees can show offtheir rhyming skills in a Freestyle competition. Two concertperformance will close out the afternoon, hosted by Free, Tigger,Tiffany and Joe Clair, all BET personalities.  

College Day tickets are available for collegestudents through participating schools for $40. The cover chargeincludes admission to the park and parking. Once inside the park,concert tickets will be distributed on a first-come first-servebasis.

10am: Park opens. 

11am: DJ spin off hostedby Tigger. 

1pm: Freestylecompetition. 

2pm: Afternoon concert hosted by Free and Tigger

Greek step show hosted byJoe Clair and Lil’ Mo 

6pm: Evening concerthosted by Tiffany and Joe Clair 

8pm: The park closes.
