Danielle Dawkins, Staff Writer

Born February 6, 1984 in Dover, Delaware, Danielle arrived at Howard University in 2002 for her freshmen year. She changed her major to Print-Journalism at the end of her first semester at Howard.

It was during her junior year that she gained most of her experience in journalism where she was a contributing writer for the Hilltop, the university’s student paper. During the summer of 2005 Danielle was a contributing writer for Your Bread and Water.

Aside from her growth in journalism Danielle also participated with WHBC Howard University’s student radio station during her junior and senior years.

Her long term goal is to create a magazine for African-American female teenagers. The magazine will not only entertain, but it will also teach life skills that this demographic lacks.

Danielle loves to lounge with a bag of chips and a Pepsi while watching Nightmare on Elm Street movies and Degrassi: The Next Generation. She enjoys reading, when she can find a book to tickle her fancy. She also loves listening to classic R&B and hip-hop. Aside from her growth in journalism Danielle also participated with WHBC Howard University’s student radio station during her junior and senior years.
