Foxy Brown’s Hearing Battles

Foxy Brown’s rapping career has been strangely quiet for a couple of years as her albums have been pushed back and issues with her contracts and record labels headlined hip-hop news.

People watched in curiosity as all other female rappers like Lil’ Kim and Eve kept passing her by withalbums.

Many fans were shocked to discover rapper Foxy Brown was suffering from rare condition called sudden sensorineural hearing loss in both ears as she graced the cover of a recent People magazine.

This perplexing condition has no universally accepted definition and about one-third of patients will awaken with the loss. Others may discover the problem when they try to use the telephone, or may describe a brief period of fluctuating hearing before the loss.

In the article Foxy Brown is quoted as saying, “I started breaking down in tears and screaming and I couldn’t even hear myself scream.”

The rapper born Inga Marchand underwent a surgical procedure in hopes of restoring her hearing abilities that are quickly faltering, according to Allhiphop.com. Foxy will have another surgery in the upcoming weeks.

She is now even closer to being completely deaf according to her lawyer Joseph Tacopina, who iscommunicating with her by passing notes.

The stress from loosing her hearing magnified as she is now involved in a legal bout; accused of punching and kicking two employees of a nail salon after they allegedly refused to let her leave without paying, according to Allhiphop.com. The judge adjourned her case until Dec. 23.

Despite her failing health, fans will still be able to enjoy the Ill Na Na’s album, “Black Roses” in 2006, according to Allhiphop.com.

Ironically, her last album was titled “Broken Silence”and now she is living in a world of silence. Fans are standing by her and members of the hip-hop community are showering her with support.

“I know God is working on me. I’m on a personal journey. I believe God wants to be the only voice Ihear right now. I know I will be all right,” Foxy told People.
