Oprah Makes Dreams Come True

Oprah Winfrey kicks off her 19th season today with abang. Proving her billionaire status has not changed herphilanthropic attitude, the media mogul will give each audiencemember a brand new car.

Audience members will be caught completely offguard, and led to believe that only 12 audience members willreceive a new Pontiac G6. Eleven people were brought onstage andthe remaining key was supposed to be in one of the gift boxes givento everyone in the audience. However, when the rest of the audienceopened their boxes, a set of keys were found in every box.

The Associated Press reported that theaudience erupted into screams and cries of joy as Winfrey yelled”Everybody gets a car! Everybody gets a car! Everybody gets acar!” They were then led to the parking lot of her studiowhere they found over 200 Pontiacs, each decorated with a tidy redbow.

The audience for this particular episode wasnot randomly selected. Family members and friends of the audiencehad written the Oprah show explaining why their loved one needed anew car. One couple in the audience had over 400,000 miles on bothof their vehicles, while another woman’s son wrote that hismother drove a car that “looks like she got into a gunfight,” reported the Associated Press.

It seems like surprises like this will beOprah’s theme this season. She stated that “we’recalling this our wildest dream season, because this year on theOprah show, no dream is too wild, no surprise too impossible topull off,” she told Associated Press reporters. So far she’sbeen on the right track.

During this same episode, Oprah gave a20-year-old girl who spent much of her life in foster care amakeover, $10,000 worth of clothing, and a college scholarship forfour years.

A family with eight foster children that wason the verge of losing their home received $130,000 to buy andrenovate the house.
