Care in Crisis: Nursing Shortage Continues in the Nation’s Capital

The first case of coronavirus was reported in the U.S. in January 2020. It’s rapid-fire spread left hospitals in critical condition. While doctors and emergency rooms became increasingly overwhelmed, it was the nurses who were on the front lines, tasked with the day-to-day care of patients. As cases surged, so did the shortage of nurses, leaving many patients feeling neglected. NewsVision’s Ashleigh Fields has the story.
