Crime in America is one of the hot button issues in the 2024 Presidential Election. According to the New York Times, Republicans tie crime to immigration, despite research that shows they commit crimes at lower rates that those born in the U.S. Democrats, meantime relate crime with public safety, including looking at measures such such as increasing mental health services and drug treatment.
