Kwanzaa, celebrated from December 26 to January 1, is a holiday for Black people to gather and celebrate their history, culture, and accomplishments. Typically, families or communities come together; but the pandemic has forced in-person programs to be reformatted virtually. Members of the DC Kwanzaa planning committee reflect on the first year they planned virtual events and anticipate a successful virtual program this year. NewsVision’s Hadiyah Presswood has the story.
