Slow Down DC: City Council Passes New Law to Reduce Speeding

Washington DC lawmakers have passed a bill aimed at reducing speeding in the District. The “Strengthening Traffic Enforcement, Education, and Responsibility Act” was introduced by DC Councilmember Charles Allen. The cameras reportedly issued over one million tickets for cars going 11- 15 mph over the speed limit. The bill grants the Attorney General the authority to penalize dangerous drivers, whether they are local or from out of state. NewsVision reporter Zsana Hoskins has the story.
