A back-to-school event on Saturday in Beltsville, Maryland, brought families together for school supplies, food, health services, financial resources, haircuts, activities and other community support.
Local organizations and businesses provided backpacks, low-cost phone and internet information, acupuncture and wellness services, along with resources for parents and children as they prepared for the new school year.
Community members and participating vendors said events like this can help ease some of the stress families face during the back-to-school season.
