CNN Hero Nominee Leads by Example

Its founder, Rosie Mashale, has been named as one of the top 10 CNN Heroes for 2017.

The township of Khayelitsha in Cape Town, South Africa is home to the Baphumelele orphanage which has saved the lives of thousands of children, many being HIV and AIDS orphans.  Its founder, Rosie Mashale, affectionately known as “Mama Rosie,” is being honored for her service, as one of the top 10 CNN Heroes for 2017.  NewsVision's Nayo Campbell reports from Cape Town, where she had the opportunity to talk to Mama Rosie about her selfless sacrifice.
