Lady Tasha

Austin, Texas

Driving all the way from Austin, Texas, Lady Tasha has a front row view of speeches at the commemoration.

“I came for me, myself and I,” she said. “I am a believer of hope. Rev Al. Sharpton has mentored me for many years. When he said there would be a march for the 60th anniversary, there was no way I would miss it.”

“Dr. King and his family live on in my heart and mean so much for America. Believing in a democracy is so important, no matter how hard it is, no matter what the struggle is. Your forefathers gave you the voice to use it, carry that pride inside you and take it wherever you go.”
