Howard University is celebrating the 158th anniversary of its chartering on March 2, 1867 in Washington, DC. The HBCU held its Charter Day Convocation with DC Mayor Muriel Bowser serving as speaker. The annual event is the first event marking a weekend of celebrations in honor of the institution which continues to leave its mark across the region, nation and world.
