Bernie Mac Show Reaches 100th Episode

Relevant topics, daring humor, and favorable characters are all descriptions of the Fox hit “The Bernie Mac show.” The show, currently in its 5th season, will air its 100th episode on Friday Feb. 3.

The Bernie Mac Show is inspired by the life of King of Comedy Bernie Mac. The series explores the life of a comedian (Bernie Mac) and his wife Wanda (Kellita Smith) who is the vice president of a major corporation, and their unexpected journey as guardians of Bernie’s nephew Jordan (Jeremy Suarez) and nieces Vanessa (Camille Winbush) and Bryana (Dee Dee Davis).

In this half-hour comedic sitcom Mac’s strict discipline and old fashion reprimands often fall upon deaf ears, as the kids’ personalities and popular culture remind him that this is a different generation.

In his hit show, Bernie Mac challenges the norms of modern-day childrearing and attempts to instill solid values, and genuine appreciation into his relentless kids.

This series has been hailed by both audiences and critics. The show won the Peabody award and Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, an NAACP Image award for Outstanding Comedy Series and was honored by the Television Critics Association for Outstanding Achievement in a comedy and for Individual Achievement in a Comedy.

Other accolades include Emmy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.

Peterson Aronson is the executive producer of The Bernie Mac Show, which is produced by Regency Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television.

Tune in to the 100th episode of this comedic phenomenon Friday, February 3, at 8 p.m/7p.m.central.
