The Covid-19 pandemic caused a seismic shift to the nation’s education system. In the nation’s capital of Washington, DC, K-12 students returned to fully in-person learning in January 2022, and after taking statewide assessments, students’ scores declined. As NewsVision reporter Kendall Lanier explains, it’s a dubious trend among the nation that disproportionately affects students of color.
