Civic Discourse Amid Controversy: Howard Students Join National Conversation on Free Expression

Howard University students took part in the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) Ithaca National Student Dialogue, which explored the tensions of essential democratic ideals and practices of free expression, diversity, and inclusion.The conference, “Free Expression and the Inclusive Community,” was held on March 22 – 24 on the University of Delaware campus, and was hosted by the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. School of Public Policy & Administration. Mya Trujillo, NewsVision capstone journalism senior, and JD Jean-Jacques, Hilltop Campus Editor, were joined by Prof. Jennifer Thomas, Journalism Sequence Coordinator in the Department of Media, Journalism and Film and dozens of other college students and faculty from across the country.
