Zachary Kenworthy, Sports Writer

Born on the tiny British island of Anguilla in the Caribbean, Zachary Kenworthy has always had an avid interest in communications and journalism.  At the age of 15 he was first exposed to the media as he appeared weekly on Radio Anguilla as co-host of Sports Beat, the station’s look at the week in sports.  At the same time, Zachary was also a contributing writer for The Anguillian, the island’s leading newspaper.  A year later, while still at high school, he became the Sports Editor of the paper where he honed his skills, developed a greater appreciation for sport and writing and solidified the idea of going abroad to study journalism.

Since coming to Howard University, Zachary has continued in the same vein.  He is Sports Editor of the country’s #1 collegiate newspaper, The Hilltop, and is currently interning at the sports section of usatoday.com.  The Hilltop is a bi-weekly publication and on February 28 will become the first daily newspaper of any Historically Black College and University.  He is excited to be a part of history.

As an international student, Zachary brings a fresh perspective to Black College View and open and willing to explore all avenues.  He is a senior Print Journalism major and is due to graduate this May.
