Howard University Capstone Broadcast Journalism Class Presents Final Newscast

By NewsVision “Frontline Nine” Journalists

The “Frontline Nine” capstone broadcast journalism class at Howard University covered impactful stories during the Fall 2021 semester– from university stories, such as the Blackburn protest, to national issues like gun violence, and homelessness. The journalists are also taking a closer look at food deserts in the nation’s capital and how the Black church has pivoted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the tutelage of Assoc. Professor Jennifer Thomas, the seniors served in all roles in front of and behind the camera during the live-recorded program. The newscast was filmed at WHUT in Washington, DC.
