President Donald Trump has taken aim at Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives since his inauguration on January 20. Many conservative critics describe the policies as racist, though they were enacted as measures to create a level playing field due to past discrimination to people of color, the disabled and many other groups. Popular retail giant Target is among those taking an about face, ending its DEI policies. That action has led shoppers of color to boycott the business.
