People’s March Brings Protesters to Nation’s Capital Ahead of Trump Inauguration

By Mackenzie Williams, NewsVision reporter

The day before President-elect Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, a sea of protestors marched on the National Mall in the frigid weather to take a stand against the Republican Party’s policies that they say will undermine the rights of many Americans, including immigrants, minorities and members of the LGBT+ communities. Near the end of the march, another intense, but peaceful protest erupted within the crowd. NewsVision reporter Mackenzie Williams was there.
