After a tenuous 34 days, a group of Howard University students reached a confidential agreement with university officials, ending their occupation of the Blackburn Student Center. The students were protesting housing conditions and other issues at the historic HBCU. Howard University President Wayne A.I. Frederick calls the move a “welcome step forward,” while some of the protest leaders say it was “ridiculous” that it took this long.
