CBC- Innocent and Exonerated Panel Tackles Issue of Race and Wrongful Conviction

A 2022 National Registry of Exonerations report shows that innocent Black people are seven times more likely to be wrongly convicted of murder than those who are innocent and white. These numbers point to the serious issue of race and wrongful conviction, which was the topic of the “Innocent and Exonerated” panel hosted by U.S. Congresswoman Maxine Waters at this year’s Congressional Black Caucus Foundation’s Annual Legislative Conference.
