With gun violence a public health crisis across the country and in the Washington, Maryland, Virginia (DMV) area, lawmakers are looking at approaches to hold makers of firearms more accountable. The Comprehensive Community Safety Funding Act in the Maryland House of Delegates would create an 11% excise tax that lawmakers say could generate 13 million dollars. The bill cleared the State Senate and is now awaiting action in the House. NewsVision’s Toussaint Fancher has the story.
