Social media giant META’s decision to end its third-party fact-checking program is raising questions about the future of news on social media. As college students increasingly rely on platforms like Meta, which was formerly Facebook ,and Instagram for information, many are now facing the challenge of determining what’s true without the help of fact-checkers.
