American Idol 3 Winner to Release Debut Album This Month

With the powerful voice of Patti Labelle, unique sound of Macy Gray, and enticing charismatic harmony of Erykah Badu, American Idol 3’s winner Fantasia Barrino will launch her long awaited debut album entitled “Free Yourself” on November 23 according to Billboard.com.

The album features guest appearances by Missy Elliot, Jermaine Dupri, and Rodney Jerkins. Both Elliot and Dupri have solidified themselves as first rate produces and performers, and Grammy-winning Rodney Jerkins has an impressive resume as well, working with legends in music such as Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Madonna, and Alicia Keys to name a few.

“I can’t believe they’re writing for me,” Fantasia said in a statement.  “I want the songs I record to show different aspects of what I can do musically.  I can’t wait.  I feel like as much as God has blessed me, now I want to give back,” Fantasia told reporters.

The album will feature some of her summer hits such as “Summertime,” “I Believe,” which reached the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart in June, “Selfish,” and the title track, which is collaboration with Elliot, and “Got Me Waiting,” which features Dupri.  Other producers include Jazze Phae, and Soulshock & Karlin.

On November 24, Barrino will appear on the American Idol holiday special, and will make appearances on Good Morning America, 20/20, The Tonight Show and Regis & Kelly.

Barrino, who is from High Point, North Carolina, captured the hearts of America by flaunting her style, soul, grace, and expression.  By commanding the attention of the audience’s spirit, this southern belle could leave viewers silent gasping for air, or erupt viewer’s hearts like a volcano, overflowing with joy and admiration for such a talented, gifted artist.  It is said that yesterday’s stars do not shine today.  However, Fantasia star quality has an everlasting glow.
