The Black maternal health crisis remains a significant challenge, with Black mothers suffering higher rates of pregnancy-related complications and deaths compared to other groups. According to the National Institutes of Health, 29–44% of Black women experience postpartum depressive symptoms, but few are diagnosed, allowing them to receive the services they need.
